About The Artist

Stacie Monday is an artist who delves into the intricate relationships between femininity, identity, and Black culture, addressing the social, political, and cultural dimensions of Black womanhood. Using mixed media, her creations on canvas, paper, and wood position her as a compelling visual storyteller within her community.

A self-taught artist from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Stacie began her artistic journey in 2014, primarily working with acrylics. Her deep passion for knowledge fuels her creativity, drawing inspiration from historical literature, religious themes, and social media. Her latest series, *Let the Church Say Amen*, investigates identity and womanhood through the lens of purity culture and the Black Church.

Stacie has showcased her work in numerous national exhibitions, including the African American Museum of Dallas, and has held solo shows at Pencil on Paper Gallery and Sunset Art Studios. Her artwork has garnered attention from major publications such as Buzzfeed, Architectural Digest, and the Huffington Post, and she was recently highlighted in Artsy’s *Black Painters on Our Radar*. In addition to her canvas work, Stacie is also a muralist, with pieces displayed at the Bathhouse Cultural Center in Dallas, TX, and Mag & May luxury apartments in Fort Worth, TX.
